On Wednesday, Bradley Cooper took the stage to present Pitt with the award, gushing over his friend and Once Upon a Time... In Hollywood star.

Bradley Cooper helped Brad Pitt get sober
During Brad Pitt's emotional speech, he revealed to the crowd that the A Star Is Born star actually helped him get sober. "I got sober because of this guy, and every day's been happier ever since," Pitt stated after thanking him for coming to present the award after putting his two-year-old daughter Lea to bed. Brad gave his friend a big thumb's up and said "I love you, and I thank you."
This was the first time that Brad has openly said that Cooper played a part in helping him get sober and it was also a rare occasion that Pitt brought up his alcohol problem. He first opened up about his alcoholism in December 2019 during an interview with Anthony Hopkins for Interview magazine.
