On October 21, Bill Turnbull returned to "his" show (BBC Breakfast) for an interview to discuss his current fight against cancer as well as the love and support he has received ever since the devastating prognosis he received in March 2018: prostate cancer.
The presenter, who has openly addressed his illness and the journey he's been on since last year in the Channel 4 documentary Bill Turnbull: Staying Alive, began the interview with his colleagues Naga Munchetty and Dan Walker with a smile:
"I feel remarkably cheerful and healthy!" he began and then talked about his treatment. "I've been off chemo for a year and I've recovered from that now."
Bill turnbull thanks his "wonderful family [...] and remarkable wife"
Turnbull then talked about his family, and especially his wife's support: "I'm very lucky to have a truly wonderful family, and a remarkable wife.
It has been very difficult, but if you have love in your life, and enough of it, it really does carry you through. And I’ve been really blown away by people wishing me well - and all those things really count."
Bill Turnbull eventually added, "I'm going to live for as long as I'm going to live for. Whatever happens, happens. If I can help make myself better than great."
With these word, he left Naga Munchetty and Dan Walker rather emotional as the interview came to a close. We wish Mr. Turnbull all the best!
