- Danny Masterson is an American actor
- He was recently sentenced for rape
- THIS is how his wife Bijou is doing
As would be the case for any spouse going through something similar, this is not an easy time for Bijou at all. According to 'People' magazine' she is "distraught" after her husband Masterson was sentenced to 30 years in prison. A source close to the magazine has let readers in on her state of mind these days.
"She has had a very difficult time since the conviction," the insider says. "She loves Danny and has no plans to file for divorce. She will be by his side for it all." For many fans, Masterson is now beyond redemption, but his wife refuses to let him sink.
Bijou will stand by Danny no matter what
She's staying as close to family as possible. The source shares that Phillips, 43, is "surrounded by family and friends," adding, "She is in touch with his lawyer. They are planning appeals. She tries to stay hopeful."
Danny and Bijou have been married for over a decade now. The couple have worked together, in projects including 2009's 'Made for Each Other'. They reportedly dated for eight years before tying marrying in 2011. They welcomed their only child together back in February 2014. The family unit still seems to be strong despite the scandal.
During the sentencing, two women he was convicted of raping gave victim impact statements and the Judge Charlaine Olmedo told Masterson, "Mr. Masterson, you are not the victim here. Your actions 20 years ago took away another person’s voice and choice. Your actions 20 years ago were criminal, and that is why you are here," according to 'Variety' magazine.
Phillips is the daughter of John Phillips, the frontman of The Mamas and the Papas. As the daughter of a rock legend, Phillips was introduced to the entertainment industry at an early age, and that exposure led to her becoming a model as a teenager.

Nothing could have prepared her for the shock of this trial, however. The 'People' insider said, "She wasn’t prepared for the verdict. She never expected him to be found guilty. She couldn’t believe that he was taken into custody right away and remanded."
It's not all too clear what happens now. Philips will remain by her husband's side, and it's still unclear if there will be an appeal in the very near future, or not. We'll have to wait and see if there is a next chapter in this saga.
