Alex Trebek Reveals He Has Rehearsed His Goodbye To 'Jeopardy!'

Alex Trebek has a new memoir titled "The Answer Is...: Reflections on My Life." It will be released on July 21 with Simon & Schuster. The book comes out just before the host's 80th birthday.

The Twitter account of Jeopardy! confirmed the news on Tuesday with a tweet that includes the book's cover.

According to the memoir's publisher, Simon & Schuster, Trebek's memoir will discuss his time as the host of Jeopardy! since 1984. But it also focuses on Trebek's battle with stage IV pancreatic cancer.

"I want people to know a little more about the person they have been cheering on for the past year," Trebek said, per Simon & Schuster.

Alex Trebek: His health update from March

Trebek announced his cancer diagnosis in 2019. He most recently offered an update on his health in early March 2020, when he revealed that he had already defied the odds of survival one year after his diagnosis.

The odds of a two-year survival decrease to seven percent, he noted. But at that time, he said he was taking it "one day at a time" and staying positive during chemotherapy treatment.

Look for the popular host's memoir when it hits shelves and digital reading services on July 21.
