Bobby Berk was interviewed on The Jenny McCarthy Show and opened up about a big lesson he learned from a Bravo star. Before he had reached fame from being a part of the Fab Five Bobby Berk had a great reputation as an interior designer so a "New York Housewife" wanted him to design an apartment for her. She even said she would make sure he was featured on the show to get him exposure.
Confident Bobby agreed to design for her but said he would not do it for free, he would do it at cost because it is a lot of work and product and he was already successful and did not need the exposure. "I don't necessarily know if the Housewives is really the exposure I want anyways, so I'll do it for you at cost." The Housewife agreed but then her husband called in a threatening way and demanded he does it for free until Bobby stood his ground and said "You know what? I'm not only not doing it for free, I'm not doing it anymore. I don't need this."
Unbeknownst to Bobby who was away at his LA branch, the Housewife went into his store and tricked his employees (who were unaware of the drama) into letting her take a ton of products. The thief "told my staff that I had said she could take anything out of the store that she wanted to design her house for the shoot and here was her credit card and 'If I don't bring anything back, if I like something, you can just charge the credit card." Not only did she not return a single item, the staff members continuously tried to contact her over the next few months to no avail so they tried charging the card she left them and it was declined!
So Bobby confronted the Housewife over the phone and said "What the f***? I can't believe you came in here and literally stole from my store." To which the sketchy RHONY couple said "You know what? Then let's go to court. This'll be good TV. It's easier for us just to have our lawyer deal with it than it would be to actually pay you."
Now Bobby says he is "very picky about the type of clients that we work with now, especially in Hollywood." At first, fans suspected the RHONY wife was Ramona Singer until they found this old tweet from Bobby where he posts an article about Aviva Drescher scamming an artist:
