Céline Dion (56) remembered her late husband, René Angélil, on their 30th wedding anniversary, which fell on December 17. Angélil, who passed away from throat cancer in 2016, would have celebrated his 74th birthday just two days later. Dion shared a poignant photo from their 1994 wedding on Instagram, showing her in her bridal veil, gently holding Angélil’s face as he gazes into her eyes, his hands resting on her hips.

Their moving love story

The love story between Céline Dion and René Angélil began in 1980 when a twelve-year-old Dion auditioned for him by singing. Angélil became her manager, and the two worked closely for seven years before starting a romantic relationship in 1987, when Dion was 19. Initially, Dion kept their relationship secret, fearing public judgment. "I was afraid of what people would think," she shared with 'People' in 1994. Their relationship became public after they had been engaged for several years.
