In the 1981 adventure film written by George Lucas, Karen Allen (68) played bar owner "Marion Ravenwood", who also happened to be Harrison Ford's love interest. After appearing in Cruising with Al Pacino the year before, Raiders was her big breakthrough and turned her into a household name worldwide.

She went on to appear in numerous box office hits, such as Starman (1984), Scrooged (1988) and The Perfect Storm (2000), until coming full circle to star as "Marion" again in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull in 2008, alongside her old co-star Harrison Ford.

Over the last few years, Karen has also directed several plays, including Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, and short films such as A Tree. A Rock. A Cloud. In early 2017 she was the lead in the film Year by the Sea. 

Karen Allen: "Marion Ravenwood" is still her favourite role 

Even today, thirty-nine years after Raiders first took cinemas by storm, "Marion" is still Allen's favourite role ever. "I really fell in love with this character while working on the film", the actress revealed in an interview with CNET. We’re certainly glad that the talented actress decided to play "Marion Ravenwood" again!

Karen Allen has been married once, to actor Kale Browne from 1988 to 1998. Together they had one son named Nicholas born in 1990.
