The 1988 Christmas movie Scrooged, made as a modern adaption of the Charles Dickens novel A Christmas Carol, has by now become a favourite among families all across the world, especially during the holiday season. Bill Murray plays the role of "Frank Cross," an unbelieving, selfish TV executive who is visited by three spirits on Christmas Eve, each trying to teach him a different lesson.

The brutal TV producer "Frank Cross" only interests are money and power, which he clearly shows by the lack of concern for his family and friends. On Christmas Eve, his deceased boss "Lew Hayward" visits him in his dreams and, with the help of three Christmas spirits, tries to make him see the fault in his ways.

"Frank's" ex-girlfriend "Claire" is not only an eye-catcher, she also is good hearted and passionately enjoys helping people in need. As previously mentioned, she was in a relationship with "Frank," but ended it after realizing how greedy and power-hungry her partner had become.

It's still easy to recognize Karen Allen's beautiful smile on the red carpet. Allen has had a very long and successful career in show business. She played the role of "Marion Ravenwood" in the hit movie Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark back in 1981 and naturally returned to the role 27 years later in Indiana Jones: Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. "The Ghost of Christmas Past," portrayed by a crazy taxi driver (played by David Johansen) is the first spirit to visit "Frank" in his dreams. He takes him on a ride down memory lane showing him his past. One scene in particular depicts "Frank" receiving 5 pounds of veal instead of the model train he wanted for Christmas.

David Johanson is not only an actor, but above all he is a musician. David Johansen is the singer of the band New York Dolls and goes by the pseudonym Buster Poindexter. Although he could have landed a number of other roles after his success in Scrooged, he decided to concentrate on his music. He has since then released 16 studio albums.

"Frank's" second supernatural visit is from "The Ghost of Christmas Present". The fairy looks harmless, dressed straight out of a fairytale, but don't let her looks deceive you. During her scene she torments the executive, with her most famous quote being "The truth is painful, Frank!"

Carol Kane still exudes her charm. After Scrooged, she appeared in many films and was even on the Broadway stage. Most recently, she starred in TV hits such as Gotham and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and from 2020 to 2021, she appeared in the new Amazon series Hunters.
