Artem Chigvintsev's Financial Setback
Artem Chigvintsev, a prominent figure in the dance world, has recently found himself at the center of controversy. Following his arrest on domestic violence charges, Chigvintsev claims to have experienced a substantial financial hit, losing over $100,000 in income. The dancer, who married wrestler Nikki Bella in 2022, saw his marriage unravel after a heated argument on August 29, leading to police intervention.
In documents obtained by the 'Daily Mail', Chigvintsev stated, "It is not true that I have not been able to find other work as a dancer. I normally start jobs in November and it goes for 20 weekends.
After the mugshot and the arrest based on her false allegations, I was taken off the website faculty list resulting in loss of over $100K in income." This statement highlights the severe impact the allegations have had on his professional opportunities.
Beyond the direct financial implications, Chigvintsev also noted a decline in social media promotion revenue. He alleged that Nikki Bella continues to benefit from such promotions, accusing her of prioritizing her career over his when she reported the incident to the authorities.
The former 'Dancing with the Stars' professional emphasized that the allegations have damaged his reputation and income streams.
Chigvintsev, who shares a four-year-old son named Matteo with Bella, vehemently denies the accusations of violence. He asserts that Bella is "the one with the temper," claiming that he has always tried to remain calm during conflicts.
"I also lost the social media promotion revenue, which she continues to benefit from as she was more worried about her career when she lied to the police than mine." Artem - who has son Matteo, four, with Nikki - claimed that his estranged wife is the "one with the temper" and insisted that he had "not been violent" with her.
He further stated, "He said: "She is the one with the temper. I try to stay quiet and avoid it. She yells, and [in August] was yelling, pursuing me, and was the one who attacked me. It is further a lie that I was growing increasingly angry, snapping at her, and yelling. I was not violent with her and did not violently grab or yell at her."
Nikki has yet to address her former husband's comments publicly but in September, she was granted a restraining order against Artem after she claimed her violence.
While Nikki Bella has not publicly responded to Chigvintsev's statements, she took legal action in September, securing a restraining order against him. A representative for Bella told 'Us Weekly', "Due to the incident that led to Artem’s arrest on August 29, 2024, Nikki has decided to file for a temporary Domestic Violence Restraining Order to protect herself and her son."
