- WKRP In Cincinnati ended in 1982
- Several cast members have died since then
- Here are the WKRP actors we've lost
The WKRP In Cincinnati cast provided endless laughs back in the day. The radio station sitcom ran for four seasons from 1978 to 1982. However, 40 years have passed since then, and several WKRP actors are no longer with us.
These WKRP In Cincinnati cast members have died
For a long time, nearly all eight WKRP In Cincinnati stars were still around. Most of the actors even returned for The New WKRP In Cincinnati in the 1990s, too.
The show's eldest cast member was Gordon Jump, who played "Arthur 'The Big Guy' Carlson." Sadly, he was the first to pass — in 2003, two decades after the original show ended.
It took nearly two decades more, but we recently lost two additional WKRP stars. After the show, fans didn't hear much from hilarious "Herb Tarlek" actor Frank Bonner. He was the next to pass away. Bonner died at the age of 79 in 2021.
Then the legendary actor Howard Hesseman, a.k.a. "DJ Johnny Fever," died in early 2022. He was 81.

But five WKRP stars are still with us today. The remaining cast members who brought us the great series are Gary Sandy, Loni Anderson, Richard Sanders, Tim Reid, and Jan Smithers.
And fans won't soon forget the stars we've lost.
