'Bad Boys II' (2003) — $273M Before working in many of his now well-known films, after working on ‘Independance Day’, the actor played the role of a narcotic cop who doesn't quite fit in with the rest of the department. These films are action and comedy-filled and might have another sequel coming soon.

'The Pursuit of Happyness' (2006) — $307M This is one of Smith’s most dramatic and emotional works to date. The depth of the story and meaningfulness behind real-life scenarios intertwined with fantasy makes you teary, whether you like it or not.

'I, Robot' (2004) — $347M The worry of robots and artificial intelligence taking over the world, eradicating humans, and other things has been around since the release of ‘Terminator’. ‘I, Robot’ is another depiction of a futuristic reality in which humans allow themselves to be surrounded by machines, automated processes, and AI.

'Hitch' (2005) — $368M A romantic comedy in which Smith plays a romance expert. He coaches a client into getting a date with his crush while failing to woo the woman he is interested in himself, making him rethink his strategies.

'I am Legend' (2007) — $585M Another loved genre that is incredibly hard to succeed in is both horror and zombies. With his outstanding performance, Smith and the producers managed to gain a much higher profit than is normally seen for these kinds of films.

'Men in Black 3' (2012) — $624M A classic for Smith, the movie series allowed him to combine the sci-fi genre with a comic twist. We’ll only include one of the ‘Men in Black’ films but it’s worth noting that the original MIB (1997) earned $598M, and MIB II (2002) earned $442 for a total of $1.66B.

'Hancock' (2008) — $624M Another peculiar movie in which a superhero is living on the streets?… According to ‘ScreenRant’, it managed to beat ‘Iron Man’ (released that same year) in earnings. It tackles an issue with superheroes where the State charges “Hancock” for any and all damages to public property.

'Suicide Squad' (2016) — $747M Curiously enough, although it was pretty much hated by the audience and critics alike, the movie managed to make an enormous profit. This may have something to do with Smith and Margot Robbie’s names, or with the fact that “The Joker” was depicted more uniquely.

'Independence Day' (1996) — $817M What do you get when you cross aliens with patriotism? A highly anticipated movie. Who doesn’t love a good alien movie?, and we know that many Americans love their country and celebrate the Fourth of July, so it came as no surprise that this film is to this day one of his most successful movies.

'Aladdin' (2019) — $1.05B Will Smith started out as a rapper and had a comic role in television before moving on to movies. He demonstrated on ‘Aladdin’ that he definitely still keeps his sense of humor and officially has a billion-dollar-grossing film on his record.
