Debra Messing was not the only actress in consideration for the role of "Grace". Nicolette Sheridan and Alexis Arquette were also up for the part— but we are sure glad Debra Messing ended up getting the role! According to NY Daily News, the showrunners so desperately wanted Messing for the role that they went to her apartment with a bottle of vodka and pitched her the show for hours while pouring her shots of vodka! Messing said, "I'm a lightweight. I didn't need much to be a little giddy. By the end of the evening, they said, 'Will you do it?'"
