- 'Game of Thrones' was wildly successful
- A "Jon Snow" spinoff was planned
- For now it's stopping and here is why
"Jon Snow" actor Kit Harrington said that the 'GOT' HBO spinoff has been axed in a recent interview as 'USA Today' reports. "Currently, it's off the table, because we all couldn't find the right story to tell that we were all excited about enough," Kit Harington, told 'Screen Rant'.
The fans were so ready for it!
And that's fair. But Kit expanded on it saying, "So, we decided to lay down tools with it for the time being." 'GOT' co-star Emilia Clarke previously said that the spinoff idea was "created by" Harington, as author George R.R. Martin had not yet written anything for it .
Also interesting:
Martin confirmed this to be true in 2022 saying, "Yes, it was Kit Harrington who brought the idea to us, George R.R. Martin, via blog. I cannot tell you the names of the writers/showrunners..."
