We're starting with a family that's covered three generations in Hollywood, and that's the Hedren-Griffith-Johnsons. It started with the marriage of The Birds actress Tippi Hedren and her husband Peter Griffith, who had their daughter Melanie in 1957.

Melanie Griffith also became an actress, and she was twice married to Miami Vice star Don Johnson. The legendary '80s actor and his wife then had a daughter who is making a name for herself in the movie business today...

Dakota Johnson, the daughter of Don and Melanie, is now a big star herself. As the star of 50 Shades of Grey, Suspiria and more, she is one of the most in-demand actresses working today. She's seen here with her grandmother, Tippi Hedren.

Do you recognize this famous Hollywood clan? Of course, that's classic movie star Henry Fonda on the right, back when his fame far eclipsed that of his children. But, today, Henry's kids Peter Fonda and Jane Fonda are certainly just as well known as their famous father.

The Grapes of Wrath star Henry Fonda was married five times in his lifetime, but his famous children Peter and Jane were both born during his marriage to Francis Ford Seymour.

Henry and his son Peter, best known from Easy Rider, have both now passed on, but Jane Fonda is still living today in her 80s. She also has a son named Troy who's an actor today.

Yes, that pouty little girl sitting atop her father's shoulders is none other than Drew Barrymore. The popular actress comes from the legendary Barrymore acting family, which has been appearing on stage and in films for generations.

Drew was born to actor John Drew Barrymore and his fourth wife Jaid, seen here with their young daughter.

Drew Barrymore's father is actually a son of John Barrymore, who was part of the famous trio of Barrymore acting siblings. Here is Drew Barrymore's grandfather John with his siblings Ethel and Lionel and Walt Disney.

John is on the far right, while his brother Lionel is in costume as Rasputin for a 1930s film the siblings all acted in.

In the centre of this photo is Francis Ford Coppola, the Godfather and Apocalypse now director who is probably the best-known member of the famous Coppola clan in Hollywood.

But Francis Ford was one of three children born into a family of artists in the film and music world. His children, actors-filmmakers Sofia Coppola and Roman Coppola, are leading the new generation, but there are other well-known family members working today as well.

Nicolas Cage's birth name is Coppola, but he changed his name to avoid association with the nepotism of the family. He's the son of Francis Ford's brother August.

Actor Jason Schwartzmann is also a cousin of Nicolas Cage and Sofia and Roman Coppola, born to the third Coppola child, Talia. And those are just a few of the more famous Coppolas, as there are many working in the entertainment world today.

Decades ago, Liza Minnelli and her mother Judy Garland were one of the most famous mother-daughter duos in the movie business. However, Liza sadly lost her iconic mother, the Wizard of Oz star, at a fairly young age in 1969.
