We have had bad-ass, katana-wielding "Michonne" since she rescued "Andrea" in season 2 of The Walking Dead! Now the time has come to let her go...

The Walking Dead's Bad-ass Heroine

Danai Gurira has been an amazing role-model on the hit AMC show, The Walking Dead. She joined the main cast in the apocalyptic world when fans truly needed her. She was not a weak woman who had to learn to defend herself, in fact many of the male characters relied on her to save them!

She was the voice of reason and the protector of the good, often putting herself in harms way to avoid both innocent and not so innocent characters from being hurt.

Danai Gurira's Final Episode Of The Walking Dead

On Sundays episode, "Michonne" finds herself drugged and hallucinates her life from a completely different point of view all stemming from her first introduction into the series. In her drug-induced perception she chooses not to save "Andrea" and instead finds herself on a path to join the enemy group "the Saviors". She even kills many members of her own group and berates "Rick" for his actions against "the Saviors."

Luckily she escapes, sees "Rick's" boots and decides to try and find him. She leaves the show just as she began, with a dark hood and chained zombie pets trailing behind her. What a full circle! Usually, we have to say goodbye to favorite characters via a gruesome murder or eaten by walkers, it is a huge relief not losing "Michonne" that way!

What Will Black Panthers Danai Gurira Do Now?

When asked by EW if she would be a part of The Walking Dead movie, Danai coyly responds with "I mean, we'll see how it goes, man. You know what I mean?"

Now she will be focusing on writing for her new show Americanah about Nigerian families struggling to establish themselves in the US and the UK.

We look forward to watching whatever she is a part of!
