The 'Titanic' Cast Through The Years

Titanic, released in 1997, tells the story of the passengers travelling on the cruise liner "RMS Titanic". The ship sank after a collision with an iceberg in 1912 during its maiden voyage and 1500 people met their deaths. Until 2009 Titanic, directed by the visionary James Cameron used to be the most successful film of all times until I was replaced by Avatar, also directed and produced by Mr. Cameron. Titanic was awarded – believe it or not – eleven well-deserved Oscars!

The two protagonists "Rose" and "Jack" were played by Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio. "Rose" and "Jack" travelled in different classes on the "RMS Titanic" when falling hopelessly in love with each other...

...And “Jack“ and “Rose‘s“ destiny is still touching millions of viewers to this day. The couple‘s story is one of the biggest on-screen love stories ever and billions of tears were shed while watching “Jack“ dying at the end.

Kate Winslet portrayed “Rose DeWitt Bukater“, a young, wealthy woman, travelling along with her fiancé “Caledon Hockley“ (Billy Zane) and her mother “Ruth DeWitt Bukater“ (Frances Fisher) aboard the "Titanic". In 1998, Kate Winslet was nominated for the Oscar as Best Actress in a Leading Role, but she didn't win. Instead, Helen Hunt received the Award for her part in As Good As It Gets.

Titanic was Kate Winslet’s big breakthrough in Hollywood. Until this day Kate is one of the most sought-after actresses in the world. But by now, Kate‘s biggest success is not Titanic, but The Reader from 2008 for which the actress (finally) received the Academy Award for Best Actress! Kate is married to Ned Rocknroll. The young Leonardo DiCaprio portrayed the poor but resourceful "Jack Dawson", who won the ticket for the crossing at a game of cards briefly before the "RMS Titanic" set sail. "Jack" was hoping for a fresh start in America, his country of birth.

Today, Leo is one of the most successful Hollywood actors of all time. In recent years he starred in blockbusters like Once Upon A Tim... In Hollywood, The Wolf of Wall Street and The Great Gatsby. In 2016 Leo finally received his Oscar for his role in The Revenant. Besides that, Leo is well-known as a playboy, who already dated models like Gisele Bündchen and Bar Refaeli…

During their journey on the Titanic, "Rose" tries to defy her fiancé "Cal's" rules. "Cal" hires a private detective who observes "Rose". That way, "Cal" finds out about "Rose's" affair with "Jack".

"Caledon Hockley", "Rose's" jealous and ruthless fiancé was portrayed by Billy Zane. The part of Kate Winslet’s partner really put him on the map as an actor, and Billy's performance of the "bad guy" was really compelling, wasn't it?

After Titanic, Billy Zane was featured in several films and TV series, like Samantha Who?, Charmed and Guilt. In 2018, Billy starred on the Amazon Original series Mad Dogs and his most recent role was in the show Curfew as "Joker Jones". He is engaged to model Candice Neil. The couple has two daughters together and is still in love and happy.
