- Oscars 2022 potential hosts have been revealed
- A trio of female comedians said to take on the gig
- Other celebs initially in talks to host were shared
The 2022 Oscars are set to take place next month, and now it seems like we might have learned who will be hosting them! That's because on Monday, Variety reported that there are now just three names circulating as potential co-hosts for the awards show, all of whom are female comedians— Wanda Sykes, Amy Schumer, and Regina Hall.
Oscars 2022 could feature first all-female host lineup
The Oscars have had a variety of memorable hosts over the years, from Ellen DeGeneres to Billy Crystal. Now, it seems as though Sykes, Schumer, and Hall will be the latest stars to take on the iconic gig! As Entertainment Tonight mentions, there has never been an all-female lineup of Oscars hosts before, so the 2022 Oscars could make history with this decision.
At this point, the trio's involvement hasn't been confirmed by any of their representatives. However, an official announcement is expected to come from the Academy tomorrow. Since the Oscars have been hostless for the past several years, viewers may be happy to see a more traditional format return in 2022. There were also a few other stars revealed to have been considered as potential hosts!

The New York Times shared that Only Murders in the Building co-stars Selena Gomez, Steve Martin, and Martin Short were also in the running to be co-hosts. However, scheduling unfortunately just didn't work out for the trio. Chris Rock and Jon Hamm were both considered for the role as well before declining. If Sykes, Schumer, and Hall do end up hosting the March 27 ceremony though, we're excited to see what they have in store!
