In the very first episode of The Partridge Family, country singer Johnny Cash made an uncredited cameo. Playing “Shirley Partridge’s” parents were Rosemary DeCamp, a veteran in classic TV, and Ray Bolger, best known for his role as the scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz.

In 2013, star Shirley Jones published her memoir and mentioned some notable guest stars and how she felt about them. About Ray Bolger, she said he was “a bit irritable and insisted that everything had to be his way.”
