Fans of The Mandalorian will be excited to know that season 2 of the show is set to debut on Disney+ soon! As Deadline reports, the streaming service took to social media on Wednesday to make the big announcement, revealing when the Star Wars spinoff will return.
The Mandalorian season 2 arriving at the end of October
The Mandalorian is coming back sooner than people might expect! That's because as Deadline reports, the show had already wrapped its second season prior to the start of quarantine, meaning the coronavirus didn't affect its production. And when Disney+ revealed the release date for The Mandalorian season 2, they also released new key promotional art!
Featuring an image of "The Mandalorian" and "The Child"— the latter more popularly known as "Baby Yoda" amongst fans— the streaming service referenced a popular saying from the show in their announcement. "This is the day," they tweeted. "New episodes start streaming Oct. 30 on #DisneyPlus."
The Mandalorian season 2: who will be in the cast?
The Mandalorian's second season will see many familiar faces return! Main characters Pedro Pascal ("The Mandalorian") and Gina Carano ("Cara Dune") will both be back. Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito, Omid Abtahi, and Ming-Na Wen are also set to make appearances during the show's second outing.
There are some new faces joining the cast as well! It was previously announced that Rosario Dawson is joining season 2 of The Mandalorian, and Michael Biehn has come on board. Bill Burr will also be showing up in a recurring role. And as Deadline mentions, The Mandalorian has also been renewed for a third season already!
The show has garnered critical acclaim and received 15 Emmy nominations this year, among them Outstanding Drama Series. We can't wait to see what the second season of The Mandalorian has in store, which will likely include lots of exciting action and cool CGI— and of course, more "Baby Yoda"!
