Ever since the Coen brothers directed The Big Lebowski in 1998, fans of the film have eagerly awaited more of Jeff Bridges' "The Dude" and his cast of eccentric supporting characters. For now, at least, a spinoff film for John Turturro's character, "Jesus Quintana," will fit the bill for Lebowski devotees.

"The Dude"?
No sighting of "The Dude" just yet, but this first trailer for The Jesus Rolls is reminiscent of The Big Lebowski's trippy visual style. A cameo from "The Dude" may still be to come.
The film stars Bobby Cannavale and Amélie's Audrey Tatou as misfit friends of "The Jesus." Jon Hamm and Susan Sarandon are also slated to appear in the film.

"Jesus Quintana"
John Turturro originally appeared as "Jesus Quintana" in the Coen brothers' The Big Lebowski. This time around, Turturro directs the film and himself in The Jesus Rolls. In the original film, the character is on a bowling team opposite "The Dude," and he refers to himself as "The Jesus." "The Jesus" echoes his earlier role in this new trailer, where he is seen licking a bowling ball.
The Coen brothers aren't involved with the film, but they gave Turturro their blessing to revisit "Jesus Quintana" in The Jesus Rolls. A release date for the film is not yet known.
