'I Dream of Jeannie'

'I Dream of Jeannie' was a TV show about a female genie (ironically named "Jeannie") and her master "Major Tony Nelson" that aired from 1965 until 1970. The whole point or gag of the show itself was "Jeannie's" attempts to make "Nelson's" life better which almost always ended in some sort of theatrical catastrophe.

After a failed landing attempt, the astronaut "Major Anthony 'Tony' Nelson" is stranded on a desert island where he finds a purple bottle. Following the now-classic Hollywood cliché, "Nelson" rubs the bottle only to find that a genie, funnily named "Jeannie", lives inside. As thanks for freeing her from her cage, she is obliged to grant the major anything he wants which leads to a ton of magic-filled shenanigans. "Jeannie" quickly falls in love with "Nelson" and they even get married at the end of the show.

"Tony" wasn't the only one involved in the genie's shenanigans. His best friend "Roger Healey" as well as his senior officer "Dr. Alfred E. Bellows" often caused problems for the magical beauty." Roger" is the only one who knows about "Jeannie's" powers and therefore, in return for keeping her secret, helps the young bachelor with his love life. The psychologist "Dr. Bellows" is very fascinated by "Tony's" strange behavior, thanks to "Jeannie", and hopes to find out his secret sooner or later.
