Powerhouse Tracee Ellis Ross is creating The Golden Girls with a creative twist, an all-Black cast! Fans cannot wait to join in on the fun and help "drive change"!
The Golden Girls Starring All-Black Cast
The hit series The Golden Girls will be "re-imagined" on September 8th! Tracee Ellis Ross announced that she, Sanaa Lathan, Alfre Woodard, and Regina King will be taking part in "The Zoom Where It Happens" to be "our rendition of Golden Girls, reimagined with an all-Black cast of your favorite actresses." The even hopes to "further engage our community and drive change." Tracee will be portraying "Rose", Regina will be portraying "Dorothy", Sanaa will be "Blanche", and Alfre will be "Sophia".
Master of None's Lena Waithe will be hosting the event and Gina Prince-Bythewood will be directing. We can't wait to catch it! The show will be free but require registration and will be taking place on Sept. 8th at 6 p.m. Eastern Time.
