The Flight Attendant season 2 is taking off, and another big star has been tapped to join the cast! As Entertainment Tonight shares, Sharon Stone is set to guest star in the thrilling series, with her role directly connected to one of the show's main players.
Stone to play "Cassie's" estranged mother
The Flight Attendant's first season followed Kaley Cuoco's "Cassie Bowden," whose job as the titular role ends up landing her in the middle of a criminal conspiracy. It has now been revealed that Stone will play "Lisa Bowden," who is "Cassie's" mother. Entertainment Tonight shared the description of her character released by the network, which mentions that after "a lifetime of dealing with Cassie's alcoholism" the two continue to be estranged.
"Lisa" is said to have no "patience or goodwill to spare" when it comes to her daughter, meaning that there will certainly be tension between the two. While the HBO Max drama was originally a miniseries, it was given the green light to continue after the success of the first season. In 2020, Cuoco talked about the possibility of the series returning, sharing that she and the creative team "always had a vision for a season 2" of The Flight Attendant.
As for Cuoco's "Cassie," season 2 finds her "living her best sober life in Los Angeles while moonlighting as a CIA asset in her spare time." However, "Cassie" soon ends up "entangled in another international intrigue." Stone last appeared in the Netflix series Ratched as "Lenore Osgood," and her return to television is no doubt exciting for fans of the actress! Mae Martin, Cheryl Hines, Jessie Ennis, and more have also been announced as part of season 2's cast.
