Ezra Miller is set to reprise his role, once again bringing his version of "The Flash" back to the big screen! Miller has appeared in several films as the character already, having shown up in Justice League and Suicide Squad as well as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Miller also starred in the Fantastic Beasts film franchise as well as indie drama The Perks of Being a Wallflower, and shows like Californication and Royal Pains. While his co-stars haven't been confirmed yet, the rumour mill has been swirling when it comes to some of the other names who could be involved in The Flash.
Kiersey Clemons is considered a possibility, as she'd actually been cast to play "The Flash's" love interest "Iris West" in Justice League, but had her scenes cut. There's also the chance that Billy Crudup could reprise his role in Justice League as "Barry's" father, and according to We Got This Covered, James McAvoy is in consideration for the role of the villain "Captain Cold".
Here's when The Flash is reportedly set to be released in theatres
The Flash was supposed to begin filming in either late April or early May of this year. Due to the coronavirus halting production in Hollywood however, the solo superhero movie is still in the pre-production stages. Despite that fact though, as Radio Times reports, The Flash is expected to hit theatres on July 1st, 2022!
While The Flash's release date is two years away, there are still several exciting upcoming films in the DC Cinematic Universe that are set to be released sooner. Wonder Woman 1984 hits theatres on August 14th, while The Suicide Squad, Black Adam, and The Batman will all be arriving on the big screen next year.
