After announcing that the fifth season would be the last, we now know that there will actually be a sixth season for the show. The news was confirmed by series creator and writer Peter Morgan, who had originally planned six seasons.
The Crown is not over just yet
In a shocking revelation, the producer got every fans hopes up yet again. Morgan told The Hollywood Reporter this: "As we started to discuss the storylines for series five, it soon became clear that in order to do justice to the richness and complexity of the story we should go back to the original plan and do six seasons," Peter Morgan.

Season five focuses on the 1990s and features actress Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth II. The sixth season will continue the story, but will focus on the 2000s.
