From season 3 onward, "Amy Farrah Fowler" had fans laughing on The Big Bang Theory.
Mayim Bialik played the character who was initially a quirky outsider in the crew with "Sheldon" and "Leonard." But "Amy" later became a lovable friend of all the main characters.
"Amy" on The Big Bang Theory was almost actress Kate Micucci
But, behind the scenes, also in consideration for the role of "Amy" was actress Kate Micucci, according to Screenrant. At the time, she already had sitcom experience on Scrubs, How I Met Your Mother, and Malcolm in the Middle.
However, Micucci did not end up without a role in The Big Bang Theory entirely. In 2013, she was cast as "Lucy," the anxious friend of "Raj." She was seen in the comedy series for a total of eight episodes.
Ultimately, the Big Bang creators decided on Mayim Bialik as "Amy" — and the actress had actually already been mentioned earlier in the series.
In season 1, when "Sheldon" and "Leonard" put teams together for a physics competition, "Raj" jokingly suggests the lead actress from the series Blossom for the team. Bialik played the role in the real-life series.
