- Jennifer Grey starred as "Baby" in Dirty Dancing
- Her co-star Patrick Swayze passed away in 2009
- THIS is what Grey would tell Swayze now
With Dirty Dancing, Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze became one of the most iconic movie duos of all time. Off-screen, however, the two actors didn't get along so well.
It's now been 35 years since Dirty Dancing came out, and star Patrick Swayze died over a decade ago. All these years later, there's one thing Jennifer Grey wishes she could tell her late co-star now.
If Jennifer Grey could talk to Patrick Swayze today
It's long been said that Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey clashed while making Dirty Dancing. Grey confirmed this in a new interview, telling People magazine that they "weren't a natural match."
She noted there was a "tension" but that they "were forced to be together" and make it work for the film — which of course became a classic. Grey is now in her 60s, but Swayze sadly died of cancer in 2009.
If Jennifer Grey could speak to her Dirty Dancing partner now? She revealed: "I would say, 'I'm so sorry that I couldn't just appreciate and luxuriate in who you were, instead of me wishing you were more like what I wanted you to be.'"
Also interesting:
It's a touching sentiment from Jennifer Grey. Patrick Swayze left us 12 years ago and his death left a void in the hearts of so many. And it appears Jennifer has spent tons of time reflecting on their past together.
Jennifer Grey is doing the rounds on interviews ahead of a memoir release on May 3. Drawing on Dirty Dancing, the book is titled Out of the Corner.
