- Jung Ho-yeon even beat famous Hollywood stars
Squid Game is THE Netflix hit from Korea and was a huge success for the streaming platform. Squid Game made history at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in Santa Monica on February 27, 2022.
Squid Game celebrates SAG success
For the first time in history, a non-English language and a Korean series won the award. The Squid Game stars Lee Jung-Jae (49) and Jung Ho-yeon (27) won in the Best Actor and Actress in a Drama category.
Also Interesting:
Jung Ho-yeon prevailed in this category against Hollywood greats such as Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon. Elisabeth Moss and Sarah Snook were also nominated.
But that was not all. Squid Game also received awards for Stunt Ensemble in a TV series AND Ensemble in a Drama series. The Korean program was therefore the clear winner of the evening.
What an amazing success for the series! No wonder there will be another season of Squid Game, as Netflix announced in January. We can't wait to see if the next season can top the first!
