Clinton Kelly talked about his experience as the host for baking competition Spring Baking Championship ahead of the show's new season, which premiered yesterday! In a recent interview with TheWrap, Kelly admitted that while he enjoys cooking, he likes the fact he doesn't have to actually do any of the work on Spring Baking Championship.
"In this show, I’m not doing any of the work. I’m obviously working as host, but I’m not actually doing any cooking," the former co-host of What Not to Wear shared. "I can just be a baking voyeur".

Kelly dishes out a surprising fact about his relationship to dessert
Kelly also delivered some candid truths regarding his experience on the TLC show... including that he's not actually "a huge dessert person" himself! Apparently there's only one person who can convince him to try some of the concoctions the contestants whip up, and that's Nancy Fuller.
The former Farmhouse Rules star is a judge on Spring Baking Championship, and will only offer Kelly the best of the desserts. "If it’s really good, Nancy will say, ‘You have to have this,'” Kelly revealed. "She’ll make the most perfectly composed bite on a spoon".

Clinton Kelly says he does his best to "sort of befriend" contestants
Ultimately though, it's the contestants themselves who make Kelly feel invested in the show. While he avoids giving spoilers about Spring Baking Championship's upcoming season away, Kelly mentions that there will be "some tears" when it comes time for eliminations.
"I really liked so many of the bakers that it was really sad when they got eliminated one by one," he admitted. "I do my best to sort of befriend them, be cool, let them know that it’s a competition show and I’m just here to support them and have a good time".
