The 85-year-old Sophia Loren is making a comeback! After more than ten years, the very talented actress is set to star in Netflix's upcoming film The Life Ahead. She will portray "Madame Rosa," a Holocaust survivor who forms a bond with a 12-year-old Senegalese immigrant named "Momo."

Sophia Loren's new movie is directed by her son Edoardo Ponti

In the film, directed by Sophia's son Edoardo Ponti, the two characters become friends after "Momo" robs "Rosa." "In my career, I’ve worked with the biggest studios but I can safely say that none have had the breadth of reach and the cultural diversity of Netflix, and that’s what I love about them," Sophia said.

Netflix's The Life Ahead is based on the 1975 Roman Gray novel La vie devant soi. The book was previously adapted into the 1977 movie Madame Rosa, which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film!
