'Silver Spoons'

Silver Spoons was an underrated gem of 1980s TV comedy. The family sitcom aired five seasons on NBC (1982-1987) and starred Ricky Schroder as "Ricky Stratton," a teen who moves in with his wealthy but immature father, played by Joel Higgins.

The series followed the new rich kid life of "Ricky" and featured some youthful stars who are now very well-known, including Jason Bateman and Alfonso Ribeiro. "Alfonso Spears" joined the Silver Spoons cast in season 3, as the nephew of "Dexter" and new best friend of "Ricky." It was a breakthrough role for child actor Alfonso Ribeiro, who later became best known for his role on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
