Now New Amsterdam fans must stay strong! As Variety reports, actress Freema Agyeman (43) will not return for the last 13 episodes of the fifth season.
New Amsterdam: Freema Agyeman aka "Dr. Helen Sharpe” exits
Freema Agyeman has been known as "Dr. Helen Sharpe" is an integral part of the cast. Especially her romantic relationship with "Dr. Max Goodwin,” played by Ryan Eggold, kept fans entertained.
The actress shared a statement about her exit on Instagram: "Dearest Dam Fam. First off I would like to say a huge heartfelt THANK YOU for your unending, dedicated and deliciously ferocious support!. What a ride! Thank you for being on it with me. She has meant so much to me, but the time has come for me to hang up her white coat, as I officially share the news that I will not be returning for the final season of New Amsterdam."
