The Cast Of 'Roseanne' Through The Years

The popular sitcom Roseanne was produced from 1988 until 1997 and ran for nine successful seasons on ABC. The show chronicles the life of the "Conner" family, who have a limited household income and live in the fictional town of Lanford, Illiinois. The family consists of "Roseanne," her husband "Dan," and their three children: "Becky," "Darlene," and "DJ".

The series was named after Roseanne Barr, who also played the main role. Barr became known as a stand-up comedian and that always showed throughout the entire run of the series— "Roseanne" was often sarcastic with her husband "Dan," but still loveable. For her role, Barr won numerous awards, among others, a Golden Globe and an Emmy Award.

After Roseanne ended, Barr appeared several times as a guest actress in various other shows. From 1998 to 2000, she had her own talk show, The Roseanne Show, which turned out to be a ratings flop. Roseanne Barr actually ran for president in 2016, naturally knowing she would never get a chance to become a "real" candidate. But she had a camera crew with her and the result was the 2016 documentary series Roseanne For President!. Her latest big project was the much talked about "comeback" of Roseanne cast with The Conners in 2018. She was since fired from the reboot for a racist tweet she made and has been playing the blame game on former co-stars and even the former First Lady Michelle Obama herself!

Laurie Metcalf played "Jackie Harris," "Roseanne's" sister and confidant. "Jackie" does not have too much confidence in her own abilities, but plays a big role in the "Conner" household because she takes great care of her nieces and nephew whenever "Roseanne" and "Dan" don't have enough time...

Laurie Metcalf has been acting constantly ever since 'Roseanne' ended in the nineties. She had a role in Scream 2, as well as regular guest roles on 'Desperate Housewives', 'Monk', and 'Easy Money'. A ten-time Emmy Award nominee, she won three consecutive Emmys for her role of "Jackie" on 'Roseanne' from 1992 to 1994. Metcalf also starred on 'The Big Bang Theory' as "Mary Cooper," "Sheldon Cooper's" (Jim Parsons) mother, and her character was extremely popular.

John Goodman played "Roseanne's" loving husband "Dan Conner". "Dan" is an easygoing, funny family man, who was looking for a job at the beginning of the series, but quickly became a drywall contractor.

Goodman made the jump to the big screen after Roseanne ended its nine-year run. In 1998, he starred in the cult film The Big Lebowski and went on to appear in productions like O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Evan Almighty, and The Artist. By now, it is hard to imagine Hollywood without John Goodman!

Michael Fishman played the youngest of the "Conner" family— "D.J.," "Roseanne's" only son. Michael Fishman is now in his 40s, not married but has two children.

The Big Bang Theory star Johnny Galecki also co-starred in Roseanne, playing "David Healy," the boyfriend and later husband of "Darlene" (Sara Gilbert). In real life, Gilbert and Galecki were also a couple for a while...
