CW's Riverdale has suspended the production of its fourth season, currently filming in Vancouver, after a team member came in contact with someone who tested positive for the coronavirus. Warner Bros. Television confirmed that the Riverdale team member is currently receiving medical evaluation.

"We are working closely with the appropriate authorities and health agencies in Vancouver to identify and contact all individuals who may have come into direct contact with our team member. The health and safety of our employees, casts and crews is always our top priority. We have and will continue to take precautions to protect everyone who works on our productions around the world," announced WBTV.

Riverdale is currently suspended amid coronavirus pandemic

Starring KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, and Cole Sprouse, Riverdale is currently airing its fourth season. The show, which has already been renewed for a fifth season, is taking extra precautions amid the coronavirus outbreak. The popular teen series is currently suspended "out of an abundance of caution," confirmed WBTV.

Earlier this week, the World Health Organization declared the coronavirus outbreak a pandemic. As of today, there are more than 1,000 confirmed cases only in the United States. Music stars including Avril Lavigne have cancelled their shows, while premieres of numerous movies including No Time to Die and A Quiet Place II have been delayed.
