Pitch Perfect fans got quite a treat on Monday when the cast of the hit musical franchise virtually reunited for a special performance! As Entertainment Tonight shares, Anna Kendrick, Brittany Snow, Rebel Wilson, and more came together to cover Beyoncé's "Love On Top" for an important cause!
Pitch Perfect reunion sees Banks and Higgins reprise characters
The epic Pitch Perfect reunion video was shared through Elizabeth Banks' Instagram. Banks directed the second and third Pitch Perfect movies and played the role of "Gail," one half of the series' outspoken acapella commentator duo opposite John Michael Higgins' "John"!
"I'm afraid I have some bad news. The Barden Bellas have gotten back together again," Higgins says in character at the beginning of the video. "It seems that not even a quarantine could prevent them from harassing us with another musical performance." Banks— who also appears in character— says her fellow commentator has "a cold, dead heart," then introduces the song!
Pitch Perfect cast's version of "Love On Top" to benefit UNICEF
Pitch Perfect stars Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Brittany Snow, Anna Camp, Hailee Steinfeld, and more are featured in the virtual performance! And as Banks mentions while introducing the reunion, a portion of the proceeds from the song will go towards UNICEF. "Buckle up kids, the Bella’s are back… for a good cause!" she captioned the Instagram video.
"Families around the globe are suffering from the impact of the #COVID19 pandemic, especially those in Lebanon who are facing crisis after crisis," Banks explained. "But we can all pitch in and help. Money raised from the downloads of our rendition of 'Love on Top' will go directly to @UNICEF to help children in Lebanon and around the world who need our support right now."
Pitch Perfect's Anna Camp on fourth movie: "I would do it"
The Pitch Perfect series seems to have wrapped up with Pitch Perfect 3, but Camp would be open to doing a fourth movie! "I would never say no, obviously, because it’s a group of women that we’ve known each other for over seven years," she told Entertainment Tonight in June. "Almost a decade going on now, which is crazy to say! I think that’s so wild. I would do it. I would definitely do it."
"I would play Aubrey forever because she’s gotten me very far in my career for a reason," Camp continued. "The fans love those movies. So I think that if they wanted it, I’d be more than happy to do it again. It’s just up to Universal at this point." It's safe to say that if a fourth Pitch Perfect did happen, fans would definitely think it was aca-awesome!
