Do NCIS: L.A. fans have to worry about the show and its favorite characters disappearing from their screens any time soon? Actor Eric Christian Olsen (44) confuses fans with a new Instagram post. He posts a picture on the social media platform that shows his character "Deeks" in action in NCIS: L.A. with the caption, "We about to get back into it."
However, Eric Christian Olsen uses a few hashtags that are confusing and tough to decipher.
"#ncisla #whysoserious #Kensidown #thefinalseason #letsgo #newepisode #sunday #cbs #jk #butyouneverknow" are a few of them he wrote under the picture.
Some of these hashtags could be an indication that the series is coming to an end. Especially the hashtag "#Kensidown", which can be translated as "Kensi" being injured... Fans are concerned!
NCIS: L.A.: Eric Christian Olsen teases the end of the series
While some NCIS: L.A. fans are worried about the agent and wife of "Deeks" because of the hashtags, others think that it refers to the fact that "Kensi" (Daniela Ruah) is shown too little in the episode. But what about the hashtag #thefinalseason? Does that mean NCIS: L.A. will no longer continue? Eric Christian Olsen leaves his fans in the dark about this one...
He does say #jk which stands for "just kidding", however that doesn't really give the viewers much hope. After all, the NCIS universe is currently in a state of upheaval. Most recently, NCIS: New Orleans was canceled after seven seasons. Instead, NCIS: Hawaii is supposed to bring a breath of fresh air to the series landscape.
At NCIS there were even some blatant exits to cope with in 2021: In addition to "Bishop" (Emily Wickersham), main character "Gibbs" (Mark Harmon) also left the NCIS team. How successful the series can be in the long term without its main character and whether NCIS can continue to score with viewers remains to be seen.
NCIS: L.A. had to give up some stars too. The two main characters "Nell" (Renée Felice Smith) and "Eric" (Barrett Foa) said goodbye. "Hetty" (Linda Hunt) is still there, but only has a few appearances. The actress has withdrawn a bit since the pandemic began. Will all of this also have an impact on the series run time?
One glimmer of hope, however, is that NCIS: L.A. remains popular with audiences. In any case, the series continues on with new episodes of the 13th season. In the spring we will find out whether there will also be a 14th season.
