Andy Samberg and Cristin Milioti's highly anticipated Palm Springs is an indie rom-com with a twist, and a brand-new trailer for it has been released! As People reports, the film is directed by Max Barbakow and produced by Samberg's comedy group, The Lonely Island.
Palm Springs was sold to Neon and Hulu at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival for a whopping $22 million, which makes it the most expensive Sundance deal ever according to IndieWire!
Palm Springs: here's what the upcoming romantic comedy is about
Palm Springs centres on "two guests at a Palm Springs wedding who get trapped in an infinite time loop," as per People's synopsis. The trailer sees Milioti as bridesmaid "Sarah," who meets Samberg's character "Nyles" at a wedding.
During what seems to be a best man speech, "Nyles" catches "Sarah's" attention, and the two appear to begin a romantic fling. They leave the wedding together and "Sarah" decides to follow "Nyles" into a mystical cave, finding herself suddenly trapped in a time loop with him!
"Guess you followed me," "Nyles" is then seen saying to "Sarah" the day after. "It's one of those infinite time loop situations that you might have heard about. The second you fall asleep it all just goes back right to the start."

Palm Springs also stars J.K. Simmons, Peter Gallagher, Meredith Hagner, Camila Mendes, Tyler Hoechlin, and June Squibb, and will be available on Hulu on July 10!
