Netflix is bringing the Angry Birds back in a new 40-episode TV series. It will hit the streaming service in 2021. Angry Birds: Summer Madness is the latest spinoff for the popular video game franchise, which has had two earlier film adaptations. Netflix announced their new series on Wednesday.

The Angry Birds Movie: Netflix now has a TV series for the franchise
Angry Birds: Summer Madness will be the newest conflict between the "Birds" and the "Pigs" of the Angry Birds franchise. According to Netflix's announcement, the series is a summer camp adventure show.
"The animated series stars Red, Bomb & Chuck as tween birds at summer camp squaring off with the obnoxious Pigs on the other side of the lake, who seem hell-bent on causing as much mayhem as possible!," the Twitter announcement said.

The Angry Birds earlier received their own feature films in 2016 and 2019, with The Angry Birds Movie and The Angry Birds Movie 2. Their new 40-episode series will join Netflix's impressive line-up of animated content, which includes BoJack Horseman, Big Mouth, and Disenchantment.
This week, Netflix also debuted the trailer for The Willoughbys, a new animated movie. A Charlie & The Chocolate Factory animated series is also in the early stages of production with the platform. Watch for Angry Birds: Summer Madness in 2021!
