In May 2018 Pauley Perrette dropped out of 'NCIS'. She claimed to have been threatened on set by her colleague, "Gibbs" actor Mark Harmon (72) and vowed never to return.

But a lot has changed in the team in the meantime. "Gibbs'" retirement in Alaska and the associated Mark Harmon exit could pave the way for Pauley Perrette's return to 'NCIS'.

Suspicious: Pauley Perrette shows up with 'NCIS' colleagues

Recently, Pauley Perrette also shared pictures of a warm reunion with her longtime 'NCIS' colleague Brian Dietzen (46), who still plays "Jimmy Palmer" today.

Together with another well-known series actress - Kirsten Vangsness (51), who played "Penelope Garcia" on 'Criminal Minds' - Perrette and Dietzen attended a concert by Canadian singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan (56) at the beginning of June.

This meeting marks the first time the actress has publicly spent time with a former 'NCIS' co-star since her exit.

How could "Abby" return to 'NCIS'?

The question of whether "Abby Sciuto" could become part of the 'NCIS' team again is complex. Her successor "Kasie Hines" has proven to be effective, but the uniqueness of "Abby's" character remains unrivaled.

The creative opportunity to reintroduce "Abby" is manifold. Since 'NCIS' Director "Leon Vance" is familiar with her work, she could easily be recruited as an additional forensic scientist, possibly to help with a major crisis or seek assistance with a personal case.

In addition, the upcoming 'NCIS' spin-off with "Tony DiNozzo" and "Ziva", would be a perfect opportunity to reintroduce "Abby", whether through her forensic skills or as a babysitter for their daughter "Tali".
