NCIS: L.A. fans had to wait longer than usual, but it's now official: the series will be back for another season, its 13th, in 2021-22. CBS confirmed the news this Friday.
Fans had been left uncertain about the show's future after only NCIS was renewed several weeks earlier, and NCIS: New Orleans had already been cancelled. But NCIS: L.A. season 13 is now a go — here's what we know about the cast.
NCIS: L.A. renewed: Season 13 cast?
It turns out that NCIS: L.A.'s renewal was delayed because they needed to secure a few cast members for the new season. And they were big ones.
Deadline reported that stars LL Cool J and Chris O'Donnell just "finalized" their deals for season 13, which made the renewal official this week. So expect to see "Hanna" and "Callen" back for more next season.
In addition to the "Callen" and "Hanna" actors returning, many NCIS: L.A. stars celebrated the news on social media, making it safe to assume they'll also be back for season 13.
"Let's get it," Eric Christian Olsen wrote on Instagram with a picture of the renewal news. Daniela Ruah added an Instagram video captioned, "It's official. Lucky number 13 comin to ya soon..."
Supporting cast members Medalion Rahimi and Caleb Castille likewise celebrated the news on Twitter. There hasn't been an update on longtime cast member Linda Hunt. But no news could be good news for fans of "Hetty," who's had a reduced role of late but is still on the series for now as season 12 heads into the final stretch.
News of the NCIS: L.A. renewal also came alongside the announcement of NCIS: Hawaii, the newest entry in the popular TV franchise. It will premiere this fall after the cancellation of NCIS: New Orleans.
