M*A*S*H actress Sally Kellerman passed away today. Her son announced the sad news to The Hollywood Reporter. He said Kellerman died "after a battle with dementia." She lived to be 84.

Sally Kellerman's film and TV career spanned an impressive seven decades, from the 1950s through the 2010s. Her trademark role was "Margaret 'Hot Lips' Houlihan" in the M*A*S*H movie from 1970.

M*A*S*H earned Kellerman Oscar and Golden Globe nominations that year. Loretta Swit later played the part on the M*A*S*H television series.

Kellerman also starred in several more films by M*A*S*H director Robert Altman, including Brewster McCloud, The Player, and Prêt-à-Porter.

Sally Kellerman was born in Long Beach in 1937. She was married twice and had three children. She passed on Feb. 24 in a care home in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles.
