Little Lord Fauntleroy was produced in the late 1970s. It had its premiere on television in the United States on November 25th, 1980 on CBS and was then released in the United Kingdom in December of the same year.

The TV movie went on to embrace cult classic status. The story about the little American "Cedric" who manages to win his grumpy grandfather's heart has become a holiday season favourite all over the world.

Ricky Schroder had his international breakthrough playing "Cedric Errol" and became a child star. His first film role was in the 1979 film The Champ.

With his blonde hair and smattering of cheeky freckles, Schroder captured the hearts of viewers worldwide.

Schroder appeared in numerous films and television series after Little Lord Fauntleroy, but was never again enjoyed quite the level of success that he had as "Ceddie". He was married to his ex-wife Andrea for over twenty years and they have four children. The couple divorced in 2016.

Schroder never quite made it as a serious actor, but that didn't stop him from trying his hand at other things. Along with his company Ricky Schroder Productions, he has produced a number of documentaries. He has had a few smaller roles in productions like Scrubs as "Dr. Paul Flowers" and 24 as "Mike Doyle". Recently he has been at the center of controversy for contributing to the $2 million bond to have murderer Kyle Rittenhouse released from jail.

Ricky Schroder was arrested at his home in Los Angeles in May 2019 and several media outlets such as CNN reported this unanimously. According to a police report available to the media, this was the second time within 30 days that Schroder had been arrested. The report further reveals both times were for domestic violence, and it was the same victim in both incidents. However, the woman refused local medical treatment.

Connie Booth played "Mrs. Errol". "Ceddie's" mother has no close relationship with her grandfather-in-law.

Connie Booth was an extremely popular actress who starred in Monty Python productions and Fawlty Towers with her then-husband John Cleese! The pair had 2 children but ultimately divorced.

Booth retired from acting in the middle of the nineties and, after studying psychotherapy for five years, has been working as a psychotherapist in London ever since.

Sir Alec Guinness played the widowed and emotionally distant "Earl of Dorincourt," who blossoms after the arrival of his grandson "Cedric" and who campaigns to make him the sole benefactor of his will. Guinness was already one of the most popular actors in Britain before starring in the movie.

Sir Alec Guinness won countless awards throughout his career. In 1957 he won an Oscar for his performance in the cult film 'The Bridge on the River Kwai.' Sadly he died of cancer in 2000 at the age of 86 and left behind an amazing body of work.
