- 'Little House' is still a cult classic
- However, reboots will not be made
- Melissa Gilbert explains why
Melissa Gilbert (58), who played the role of "Laura Ingalls" on the popular TV series 'Little House on the Prairie', spoke in a recent interview with 'CNN' about the impact the series has had on her life.
'Little House on the Prairie': Chances of a remake?
She explained that she learned important lessons from the show, and passed those lessons on to others as well. "I actually believe that deep down, every woman is a 'Laura Ingalls'," Gilbert says.
Although the series was filmed in the 1970s and 1980s, the themes still resonate with audiences and are relevant today. No wonder there have been increasing rumours in recent years about a new sequel or reboot of 'Little House on the Prairie'.

However, Melissa doesn't think that a reboot will actually be filmed. The actress said: "I think that's because 'Little House on the Prairie' still flickers across screens around the world several times a day. The series hasn't disappeared so that you have to remake it. It's still there."
However, she sees the possibility for other shows revolving around "Laura" and others at some other point in time.
"I think there is a way to continue telling the story of 'Laura Ingalls Wilder' and her life as an adult. There are no plans for that yet, but I would already consider it," Gilbert says.
