After ten years, the investigators met again in 2021 in the 22nd season of Law & Order: SVU. Meloni only had one guest appearance, because since 2021 he has been taking on the leading role in the spin-off series Law & Order: Organized Crime, in which "Stabler" and "Benson" are now seeing each other more often. This gives fans hope that there will finally be a love story between the characters after all.
