33 years after the premiere of the box-office hit Dirty Dancing, actress Jennifer Gray is ready to step back into the shoes of "Baby Houseman" for the Lionsgate sequel. Jennifer has just spoken with People about the importance of the original film and the biggest element that cannot be recreated: Patrick Swayze.

"Its appeal was that it was very genuine and simple. It was about innocence and the way that innocence is lost and how people explode into a different iteration of themselves." Jennifer will be one of the lead roles and serve as an executive producer.

Jon Feltheimer, CEO of Lionsgate told Deadline that the highly anticipated movie will be "exactly the kind of romantic nostalgic movie that the franchise's fans have been waiting for and that have made it the biggest-selling library title in the company's history."
