It's a Wonderful Life is one of the most-referenced films of all time. From The Simpsons to any show that's taken the "world if you were never born" trope, many have paid tribute to the holiday classic.
It was also thought that Sesame Street referenced the film's characters named "Bert" and "Ernie," the police officer and cabdriver who share scenes together, but the children's show creators confirmed that it was only a coincidence.

Over the years, It's a Wonderful Life has spawned many adaptations, sequels, and remakes. Stewart and Reed also reprised their roles in radio play versions of the film in the late 1940s and 50s.
In 1990, Robert Carradine played "Clarence" the angel in a TV movie sequel, titled Clarence. In the 2010s, another sequel was in the works, which would've starred "Zuzu" actress Karolyn Grimes in a modern-day story similar to the original. It never happened, however.
Though many dislike colourized versions of classic black-and-white films, It's a Wonderful Life has had several colourizations released as well.
