'How I Met Your Mother': Where Is The Cast Now?

The last ever How I Met Your Mother episode was broadcast in 2014 and we finally had to say goodbye to "Ted", "Marshall", "Lily", "Robin" and "Barney". But what did the actors do next and what are they doing now?

Josh Radnor played "Ted Mosby," the main character who was always simply trying to explain to his two kids how he and their mother met. He frequently gets caught up in the stories much to the annoyance of his kids who simply ask for a straight answer...He is the adorable, slightly pretentious, and hopeless romantic architect and professor simply trying to find true love!

Since How I Met Your Mother ended, Radnor played "Isaac" in the Broadway play Disgraced and has also starred as "Dr Jedediah Foster" in the American Civil War drama series Mercy Street. He starred in the musical drama Rise and the recent Amazon Prime smash hit Hunters! He has also been performing in the band, Radnor and Lee!

Jason Segel played "Marshall Eriksen," "Ted's" goofy and hilarious best friend he met in university. His love interest and future wife "Lily Aldrin" was played by none other than Alyson Hannigan! The two were perfect for each other and really held the group together during the constant partner swapping and fights.

Jason Segel already appeared in a number of films while he was a main HIMYM cast member and also worked as a producer. He starred in the drama The Discovery, Come Sunday, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, I Love You, Man, Jeff, Who Lives at Home, and The Five-Year Engagement. He and Neil Patrick Harris were the most recognizable actors on the cast when the show first began as Segal had reached popularity during his time on Freaks and Geeks, Slackers, and SLC Punk.

Alyson Hannigan is endlessly adorable in anything she does, and boy does she have an impressive filmography! She won a People's Choice Award for her hilarious performance in the American Pie series and starred in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Veronica Mars, and has even been hosting the competition show Penn & Teller: Fool Us. She ended up marrying her Buffy co-star Alexis Denisof in 2003 and now the couple has two daughters!

No one was more destined to play the role of "Barney Stinson" than Neil Patrick Harris. He perfectly embodied the anti-committal playboy whose abandonment issues make him cling onto his pals. His phrases like "Suit up" and "Legen-wait-for-it-Dary" are still quoted to this day! Canadian Cobie Smulders portrayed "Robin Scherbatsky", the local news anchor yearning to be a journalist who bounced between both "Ted" and "Barney." Her romances and secret alter ego are a major driver of the series.

Neil Patrick Harris was nominated four times for an Emmy Award for his performance on HIMYM.His partner David Burtka was even featured on the show as "Scooter" who was obsessed with his high school girlfriend "Lily"!Neil came out as gay in Noo6 saying "I am happy to dispel any rumors or misconceptions and am quite proud to say that I am a very content gay man living my life to the fullest and feel most fortunate to be working with wonderful people in the business I love." Cobie Smulders has appeared in 'The Avengers' series 'Unexpected', 'Arrested Development', and in 2017, she starred in Netflix's 'A Series of Unfortunate Events' and 'Friends From College'. Cobie was even diagnosed with ovarian cancer and successfully became cancer-free after multiple surgeries and kept it a secret from fans as to not worry them. Now she is a huge ovarian cancer awareness advocate. You go, girl! She has been a hard workin', Mama, having married SNL's Taran Killam in 2012 and had two daughters together!

After eight long seasons, "Ted's" wife is finally revealed in the last episode. "The Mother" is none other than Cristin Milioti from The Mindy Project. Cristin has also starred in the TV series Fargo as well as the Martin Scorsese movie The Wolf of Wall Street. She even starred in an episode of Black Mirror!
