Honey Boo Boo family's legal issues and troubling controversy
As Entertainment Tonight reports, the past few years have been turbulent for "Mama June" Shannon and the rest of the Honey Boo Boo family. When the Mama June series began in 2017, it was intended to chronicle Shannon's weight loss journey, as she dropped an astounding 300 pounds. However, Shannon and her boyfriend Geno Doak became entrenched in legal trouble in 2019 after being arrested for possession of crack cocaine.
To add to the family's controversy even more, a video was shared online that showed Shannon's daughter Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson appearing to snort some kind of powder. A new promo trailer for the fourth season of Mama June shows Shannon and Doak in court, as well as daughter Lauryn "Pumpkin" Shannon staging an emotional intervention.
