Hocus Pocus 2 is officially brewing up magic for a brand-new generation! As People shares, the sequel to the iconic Disney film is currently being filmed in Rhode Island, and we now know more about the cast and story!
Hocus Pocus 2 will focus on a trio of teenage girls
Hocus Pocus fans will remember that the 1993 movie saw "Max," his sister "Dani," and his crush "Allison" try to stop the wicked "Sanderson Sisters" after accidentally resurrecting them on Halloween. While Hocus Pocus 2 will also be set in Salem, Massachusetts, it will take place in present day— and see the "Sanderson Sisters" go up against a brand-new trio!
While it was revealed earlier this year that Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker would be returning as "Winifred," "Mary," and "Sarah," Disney+ shared additional casting details on social media on Halloween. As Entertainment Weekly reveals, new additions Whitney Peak, Lilia Buckingham, and Belissa Escobedo are set to play high schoolers "Becca," "Cassie," and "Izzy".
Community's Tony Hale and Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham will also be joining the cast, while Doug Jones will once again return as skeleton "Billy". Sam Richardson, Juju Brener, Nina Kitchen, Taylor Henderson, and Froy Gutierrez round out the ensemble cast. Hocus Pocus 2 is directed by Anne Fletcher and will land on Disney+ next fall, putting a spell on viewers just in time for Halloween!
