- NCIS enters season 20 in the fall
- Fans think "Ellie Bishop" is making a comeback
- Actress Emily Wickersham left the series in 2021
Will "Ellie Bishop" be back on NCIS next season? Most recently, the character played by Emily Wickersham was seen in the season 18 finale.
"Bishop" left the team under the pretext that she had fallen from grace after sharing an NSA document. However, this was merely a cover for a covert operation...
Why "Ellie Bishop" could return in NCIS season 20
Because the story is unfinished, viewers suspect that "Bishop" could return to the show – if only for a few episodes. Emily Wickersham probably left the show because of her pregnancy. In December 2021, she gave birth to a baby boy.
Also interesting:
Via Instagram, the actress said goodbye after her series exit. "Hangin this hat and jacket up," she wrote. "What a great ride it's been. This cast, this crew, are top notch.
"I can't say enough kind words about this group that I've had the pleasure of working with for close to 8 years now and 172 episodes later."
Fans are still not over the love story between "Nick Torres" (Wilmer Valderrama) and "Ellie Bishop" either. With "Torres" set to play a major role in the upcoming 20th season, the return of "Ellie" seems just right.
Nothing is confirmed just yet, but we hope to see "Ellie Bishop" again in NCIS season 20! Get your recap of the season 19 finale HERE.
